Course Objectives

Developing Interpersonal Communication Skills for Success: Enable learners to convey and exchange thoughts, ideas and information effectively through various mediums and approaches. Learners will communicate with others to share information, respond to general inquiries and obtain specific information.

Standard First Aid: Provides the necessary skills in identifying, planning and managing an emergency situation at home, in school or an outdoor setting.

  • Define desired outcomes for the exchange of information
  • Identify appropriate communication channels to convey information
  • Use information processing techniques - Identify types of communication channels and tools
  • Apply information confidentiality and disclosure considerations - Implement verbal and non-verbal communication techniques
  • Present ideas using concise and clear language - Use a range of technical and non-technical vocabulary and writing techniques
  • Deploy listening techniques to engage with and understand the audience
  • Identify emotional intelligence dimensions
  • Ask questions using right techniques to seek clarity when receiving information


Standard First Aid:

  • Be equipped to perform CPR & AED on adult victims and how to react to various emergency situations while maintaining self-confidence, composure, and assurance to others.

Minimum Entry Requirement

Developing Interpersonal Communication Skills for Success:
No formal qualification—Participants should be able to converse, read, and write in English at the Employability Skills Workforce Skills Qualification (ES WSQ) and/ or Workplace Literacy (WPL) Level 4 proficiency level.
