The PWM - Food Service: Food Safety Course Level 3 course is only intended for the low wage workers in the PWM-Food Services Sector.
Course Objectives
PWM-Food Service: Food Service Course Level 3:
On completion of this course, participants will have the following knowledge and application skills to perform the following at the workplace:
- Conduct food safety and hygiene checks.
- Identify hygiene lapses and manage non-conformances.
- Implement food safety and hygiene policies and procedures to ensure effective implementation of pre-requisite programmes and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP)- based Food Safety Management System (FSMS).
Blended Child First Aid Course:
- Prepare learners with necessary skills in identifying, planning and managing a medical emergency at home or in school.
- Equip learners with the skills in rendering first aid for injuries and medical emergencies arising from common accidents among infants, children and adults.
- Equip learners with the skills in providing effective resuscitation (CPR) to an adult, child and infant during medical emergencies
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this programme the learner will be able to:
PWM-Food Service: Food Service Course Level 3:
- The course equips FHOs with knowledge and practical skills for conducting checks on cleanliness, personal hygiene, and food hygiene in food establishments.
- FHOs will also learn about the Pre-Requisite Programmes (PRPs) and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) principles.
- WSQ FSC Level 3 has replaced the former WSQ Conduct Food & Beverage Hygiene Audit course.
Blended Child First Aid Course:
To provide learners with knowledge & techniques to recognise and mitigate injuries and medical emergencies like cardiac arrest, fractures, laceration, cuts, bites, severe breathing difficulties and bleedings not only in adult casualties but also that in children and infants.

- Face to Face 1 day in class (8 hours)

Who Should Attend
PWM-Food Service: Food Service Course Level 3:
All food hygiene officers (FHOs) working in retail or non-retail food establishments and in certain types of establishments that are licensed by SFA. This includes FHO working in:
- Retail food establishments such as hawker stalls, food stalls at canteens, and restaurants.
- Non-retail food establishments such as food manufacturers and food processing plants.
Blended Child First Aid Course:
Childcare Providers, Teachers and School Staff, Parents and Guardians, Activity Leaders, Youth Group Leaders, Grandparents and Family Members.
Minimum Entry Requirement
PWM-Food Service: Food Service Course Level 3
GCE N Level pass in English (Grade 1 to 5) or equivalent, or - ES WSQ Workplace Literacy (WPL) Level 4 and above - Participants who do not meet the above requirements will be required to go through a short interview.

PWM-Food Service: Food Service Course Level 3: 21 hours
Blended Child First Aid Course: 20 Hours
- Part 1 online learning – 7 hours
- Total Duration for Part 2 Practical Learning – 8 hours
- Total Duration for Part 3 Assessment – 5 hours
