The PWM - Food Service: Food Safety Course Level 3 course is only intended for the low wage workers in the PWM-Food Services Sector.

Course Objectives

PWM-Food Service: Food Service Course Level 3
On completion of this course, participants will have the following knowledge and application skills to perform the following at the workplace:

  • Conduct food safety and hygiene checks.
  • Identify hygiene lapses and manage non-conformances.
  • Implement food safety and hygiene policies and procedures to ensure effective implementation of pre-requisite programmes and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP)- based Food Safety Management System (FSMS).

Standard First Aid:
On completion of this course, participants will be able to provide the necessary skills in identifying, planning and managing an emergency situation at home, in school or an outdoor setting.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this programme the learner will be able to:

  • The course equips FHOs with knowledge and practical skills for conducting checks on cleanliness, personal hygiene, and food hygiene in food establishments.
  • FHOs will also learn about the Pre-Requisite Programmes (PRPs) and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) principles.
  • WSQ FSC Level 3 has replaced the former WSQ Conduct Food & Beverage Hygiene Audit course.

Standard First Aid:

  • Be equipped to perform CPR & AED on adult victims and how to react to various emergency situations while maintaining self-confidence, composure, and assurance to others.

Who Should Attend

PWM-Food Service: Food Service Course Level 3
All food hygiene officers (FHOs) working in retail or non-retail food establishments and in certain types of establishments that are licensed by SFA. This includes FHO working in:

  • Retail food establishments such as hawker stalls, food stalls at canteens, and restaurants.
  • Non-retail food establishments such as food manufacturers and food processing plants.

Standard First Aid

  • Primary, secondary and tertiary school staff
  • Sports/Fitness Instructors, NROC registered coaches, life- guards, elder caregivers, staff working in office environments and members of the public.

Minimum Entry Requirement

PWM-Food Service: Food Service Course Level 3
GCE N Level pass in English (Grade 1 to 5) or equivalent, or - ES WSQ Workplace Literacy (WPL) Level 4 and above - Participants who do not meet the above requirements will be required to go through a short interview.

PWM-Food Service: Food Service Course Level 3: 21 hours

Standard First Aid: 12 hours

Admin Fee for Absent and Reschedule: $32.70

Admin Fee for Make-up Session for Partial Absent, Appeal & Re-assessment: $54.50
