Course Objectives

Workplace Safety and Health for Food and Beverage Operations Level 2: The objective of the programme is to ensure that all employees in the food service sector are aware of the importance of workplace safety and are able to understand and comply with workplace safety procedures and processes in restaurants and kitchens


Standard First Aid: Participants will be able to provide the necessary skills in identifying, planning and managing an emergency situation at home, in school or an outdoor setting.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this programme the learner will be able to:

  • Define Workplace Safety and Health policies and procedures
  • Identify one's roles and responsibilities in workplace safety
  • Explain the importance of adhering to WSH policy and procedures
  • Identify potential hazards and risk associated within the work area
  • Identify non-compliances, unsafe work conditions and practices during compliance inspection within work area
  • Apply risk control measures at the workplace
  • Follow safety signs, instructions to risk control measures to maintain a safe work environment
  • Identify correct PPE and safety devices when operating tools and equipment at the workplace
  • Observe safety signs and warnings at the workplace

Standard First Aid:

  • Be equipped to perform CPR & AED on adult victims and how to react to various emergency situations while maintaining self-confidence, composure, and assurance to others.

Who Should Attend

Workplace Safety and Health for Food and Beverage Operations Level 2
This programme is targeted for:

  • Existing food service sector employeees who would like to upskill and/or obtain a recognised certification
  • New hires without any prior experience
  • Matured students going through mid-career change and/or women back-to-work

Standard First Aid

  • Primary, secondary and tertiary school staff
  • Sports/Fitness Instructors, NROC registered coaches, life- guards, elder caregivers, staff working in office environments and members of the public

Minimum Entry Requirement

Workplace Safety and Health for Food and Beverage Operations Level 2
Participants should have a minimum: - GCE N Level pass (Grade 1 to 5) in English or equivalent, or - ES WSQ Workplace Literacy (WPL) Level 4 and above - Participants who do not meet the above requirements will be required to go through a short interview.

Standard First Aid: 12 hours
