Course Objectives
Empowering Self Through Effective Problem-Solving Skills: Develop effective problem-solving skills in order for them to identify and solve work place issues by coming up with solutions and implementing corrective actions. Learners will use tools, techniques and processes to identify problems and implement guidelines and procedures to solve problems and test solutions.
Standard First Aid: Provide the necessary skills in identifying, planning and managing an emergency situation at home, in school or an outdoor setting.

- Use various problem identification techniques
- Identify common problems or issues at the workplace and its impact
- Clarify and define problems using questioning techniques
- Use problem solving procedures, tools and processes to come up with solutions
- Identify corrective actions and use them
- Test ideas and potential solutions using experimentation techniques
- Measure effectiveness of solutions
Standard First Aid:
- The learner will be equipped to perform CPR & AED on adult victims and how to react to various emergency situations while maintaining self-confidence, composure, and assurance to others.

Minimum Entry Requirement
Empowering Self Through Effective Problem-Solving Skills:
No formal qualification—Participants should be able to converse, read, and write in English at the Employability Skills Workforce Skills Qualification (ES WSQ) and/ or Workplace Literacy (WPL) Level 4 proficiency level.
