Course Overview

This course provides detailed training on the proper management of end-of-shift duties in a restaurant setting, including the initiation of responsibilities with a comprehensive checklist, techniques for cleaning pots, wares, and food preparation equipment, and best practices for maintaining floors and mats.

Additionally, the course covers guidelines for effective waste segregation and trash disposal to enhance environmental sustainability and hygiene, as well as the critical steps involved in securing the area, ensuring all equipment is turned off, and the premises are locked securely for the next business day.

Course Objectives

This course aims to equip learners with essential skills needed to manage end-of-shift duties in a commercial kitchen to foster independence, enhance job readiness, and promote environmental sustainability and hygiene.

Master End-of-Shift Procedures to initiate and carry out end-of-shift responsibilities using a comprehensive checklist, ensuring all tasks are completed systematically.

Enhance Cleaning and Maintenance Skills through proper techniques for washing pots, wares, and food preparation equipment, promoting cleanliness and hygiene in the workplace.

Maintain a Safe and Hygienic Environment by effectively cleaning floors and mats, maintaining safety and preventing slips or accidents in the restaurant environment.

Promote Environmental Sustainability by following waste segregation and proper trash disposal methods, emphasizing the importance of sustainability and hygiene.

Develop Skills for Securing the Workplace by following critical steps involved in shutting down and securing the work area, ensuring all equipment is turned off and the premises are locked for the next business day.

Who Should Attend

This programme is suitable for Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident aged 16 years old and above with:

  • Mild Intellectual Disabilities (IQ Range 50-70)
  • Mild Autism (Level 1)
  • Unemployed persons with the above disabilities
  • In-employment persons with the above disabilities (self-sponsored)
  • In-employment persons with the above disabilities (company-sponsored) 

Currently not pursuing full-time education or enrolled in any government or Special Education schools.

Course fee funding is only available for eligible persons with disabilities (Mild Intellectual Disability and Autism Level 1) who are approved by SGEnable.

Minimum Entry Requirements

Applicants should be Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents aged 16 years and above.

Applicants are required to possess the following skills:

  • Basic Literacy and Numeracy Skills
  • Basic Fine Motor Skills: involving the small muscles of the hands, fingers, and wrists. These skills are needed for precise and delicate movements
    • Examples: Writing, Wearing and Tying of Apron, Using utensils like forks and knives, Handling small objects like kitchen tools or measuring ingredients
  • Basic Gross Motor Skills to participate in classroom activities.
    • Examples include: Ability to carry out tasks that involve lifting or carrying objects, Ability to perform tasks while standing

  • 15 hours Training
  • 1 hour assessment

Registration Fee

A Registration Fee of $10.90 (Incl. of 9% GST) will be collected upon course registration, and It is non-refundable.
* In the event of any class cancellation by Eduquest, the Registration fee will be refunded

Admin Fee for Absent and Reschedule: $32.70

Admin Fee for Make-up Session for Partial Absent, Appeal & Re-assessment: $54.50

Miscellaneous Fees refer to any non-compulsory fees which the trainees pay only when applicable. Such fees are normally collected by Eduquest when the need arises.
