Course Objectives
The Customer Service Excellence Level 1 course for the Food Services Sector aims to equip participants with essential skills such as effective communication, product knowledge, service recovery, and customer engagement. The course also focuses on promoting professionalism, teamwork, and continuous improvement in delivering exceptional customer service in the food services industry.

Learning Outcomes
At the end of the course, learners will be able to:
Recognise the types of customers and triggers of potential service challenges in the food service environment
Provide service that meets and, if possible, exceeds the diverse needs and expectations of customers
Exhibit the qualities and characteristics of a service professional in the food services environment including readiness to go-the-extra-mile for service
Project the image and persona of a food and beverage professional
Communicate effectively when interacting with customers and handling service challenges
Provide feedback on areas of improvement and unresolved service challenges through proper channels
Assessment
The following assessment will be held at the end of the course:
- Short Answer Questions - 8 questions
- Role Play - 5 tasks

Progressive Wage Model (PWM) Roles - Food/Drink Stall Assistant and Food Services Counter Attendant, Waiter, Waiter Supervisor.
Food and Beverage Service Frontline Staff, Restaurant Managers, Supervisors, Waiters, Chefs and Cooks, Catering Staff, Food Safety and Hygiene Inspectors, Supermarket employees of ready-to-eat food stations, Quick Service and Full Service Food Establishment staff, Caterers, Delivery personnel, Food kiosk employees and Full-time or part-time food services employees, Full dining, semi-dining, self-serve counter staff.
