Workplace Safety and Health for Food and Beverage Operations Level 2

Course Objectives

The objective of the programme is to ensure that all employees in the food service sector are aware of the importance of workplace safety and are able to understand and comply with workplace safety procedures and processes in restaurants and kitchens

Practical activities including demonstrations, hands-on practice and observation

Learning Outcomes

At the end of the programme, the learners will be able to:

 Define Workplace Safety and Health policies and procedures

 Identify one's roles and responsibilities in workplace safety

 Explain the importance of adhering to WSH policy and procedures

 Identify potential hazards and risk associated within the work area

 Identify non-compliances, unsafe work conditions and practices during compliance inspection within work area

 Apply risk control measures at the workplace

 Follow safety signs, instructions to risk control measures to maintain a safe work environment

 Identify correct PPE and safety devices when operating tools and equipment at the workplace

 Observe safety signs and warnings at the workplace

Who should attend

This programme is targeted for:

 Existing food service sector employeees who would like to upskill and/or obtain a recognised certification

 New hires without any prior experience

 Matured students going through mid-career change and/or women back-to-work

Minimum Entry Requirement

Participants should have a minimum: - GCE N Level pass (Grade 1 to 5) in English or equivalent, or - ES WSQ Workplace Literacy (WPL) Level 4 and above - Participants who do not meet the above requirements will be required to go through a short interview.

Registration Fee

A Registration Fee of $10.90 (Incl. of 9% GST) will be collected upon course registration, and It is non-refundable.

Miscellaneous Fees (Incl. of 9% GST)

Admin Fee for Absent and Reschedule: $32.70

Admin Fee for Make-up Session for Partial Absent, Appeal & Re-assessment: $54.50

Miscellaneous Fees refer to any non-compulsory fees which the trainees pay only when applicable. Such fees are normally collected by Eduquest when the need arises.

The WSS trainees need to register for PayNow linked to NRIC (not mobile number) in order to receive the WSS training allowance.
